Christmas travesty by Alan Ayckbourn
Christmas – the season to be jolly! Once a year, everyone gets together to celebrate in harmony. And, as every year, it goes completely sideways.
Belinda and Neville Bunker are no exception: Uncle Harvey plans to give the kids real firearms. Neville’s aunt Phyllis turns cooking into alcohol-drenched chaos. Her husband Bernard is preparing his dreaded puppet theatre. Buffy Eddie doesn’t look after his kids. Which drives his wife, pregnant yet again, up the walls. When handsome Clive arrives, author and current lover of Belinda’s mother Rachel’s crush, the chaos under the mistletoe turns outright life-threatening. Because uncle Harvey did wrap other things, besides weapons!
Alan Ayckbourn, the grandmaster of British satire picks apart the festive insanity with relish. Turbulent theatrical entertainment with a hefty dose of British humour.

Director Johanna Hasse bets on precicely choreographed slapstic with headstrong objects, full physical exertion, and near disrobement - the Bruchsal audience audibly enjoyed the premiere.

Especially Evelyn Nagel gives a convincing, jealous mother Rachel, and Martin Behlert and Hendrik Vogt are absolutely credible as the child-like, playful slackers Neville and Eddie.
