Hey, hey, hey, Taxi!
Fantastical journeys after the children's book by Saša Stanišić
In a version for Badische Landesbühne by Ulrich Cyran.
I hop in a cab and sit on a witch’s broom. I experience fantastic adventures in the cab of Saša Stanišić, with giants, pirates, dragons, gnomes, and a golden toothpick. Exuberant stories from my way home, my way home to you.
Dad is always gone, the child thinks. When will I get back home, back home to you, the father thinks. Quick, hail a cab and let's get home as fast as possible.
Taxis are a magnet for stories, fantastical and aburd, funny and dangerous stories, with animals, small giants, thievish gnomes, a pirate, a cab driver who only says Odjo-Odjo ... and with dad.
Hey, hey, hey, Taxi! is the first children's book by award-winning author Saša Stanišić. He created these stories for and with his son. A journey around the world inside the theatre, in a relaxed setting for young and old alike. In stories, and in theatre, there is always a way home, home to the (inner) child.

Hey, hey, hey, Taxi! in simple language
The child is sad: dad is always gone. The father is sad: I am always gone. He hops in a cab, he wants to get home quick. In the taxi, exciting stories happen.
In the stories, there are many strange creatures. There a gnomes, who always steal stuff. And small giants.
In the play, these stories are told in a relaxed performance. That means: you can sit comfortably, you can stand up and even go outside for a moment, or you can drink something.
Bubbly acting, a multi-functional set, and props made with love and care put a spell on the audience, no matter the age. A wonderful stage adaptation of the children's book of the same name by Saša Stanišić.
