Austria, March 1938. Lola is about to start her theatre career. She finished her training in Vienna, now the first engagement in Linz is waiting for the young jewish woman. What does she care that times are getting turbulent?
Then Hitler invades Austria and Lola has to flee, first to Switzerland, the to the USA. After the war, Lola returns to her homeland only to realise, that people are still far from livining together peacefully.
Georg Kreisler's One-Woman-Musical takes the audience on Lola's journey of trying to counter the threat of fascism with melancholy and wit, with her love for and obsession with showbiz. It touches the heart and tickles the brain, it's intelligent and evil, it makes the audience laugh and cry at the same time.

Heute Abend: Lola Blau in simple language
1938: Lola is a young actress. She wants to be successful. She is jewish. In Germany, the nazis are in power. The nazis want to kill jews. But Lola does not think about it. She is in Austria.
Then the nazis come to Austria. Lola has to run away. First, she goes to Switzlerland, then to America. After the war, she comes back. She sees: The war is over, but people are still mean.
Georg Kreisler's play shows Lola's life. She is in danger, but she fights: She sings and dances, and she keeps going. The play is sometimes very sad, but there are also funny parts.
The premiere audience often applauded mid-scene and gave a standing ovation.
