Die Wut, die bleit
Drama after the novel by Mareike Fallwickl
A cooperationwith the ensemble Junges Theater, in a version by Badische Landesbühne
Mother gets up from the dinner table. She steps out on the balcony and jumps. Father is looking for a stand-in mum. The daughter rebels against the patriarchy, she focusses on her anger. The anger about what society expects women to put up with.
As the mother jumps the family is lacking love, care, security. She couldn't and didn't want to function anymore. Sarah, her best friend, supports those left behind, her own life taking a backseat. The father takes her taking over the mother's role in the family as a given. Which makes Sarah angry. Lola, the eldest daughter, is mourning, but mainly she is angry about the patriarchy. She perceives it as propagated not only by men, but by her deceased mother and by Sarah. Lola and her friend Sunny declare war on the system. They actively fight back, avenging the injustice suffered.
In her feminist bestseller, Mareike Fallwickl disects outdated gender roles and hits our society where it hurts.
